Development Manager

TL;DR

Development Manager (Private Fundraising): Lead development of concept notes, proposals, and management of private funding opportunities for refugee resettlement and integration programs with an accent on pre-award activities, donor prospecting, and cross-team collaboration. Focus on ensuring compliant grant lifecycles, high-quality reporting, and expanding high-impact services for clients.

Location: Fully remote within the United States, preference for locations where IRC conducts RAI programs. US-based candidates only; some domestic travel (up to 15%).

Salary: $67,500 - $84,000

What you will do

• Lead development of concept notes and proposals for private donors (corporations, foundations, HNWIs) in coordination with program sites, ER, and finance.
• Prospect new donors and steward a portfolio supporting RAI programs, prioritizing Impact @ Scale initiatives.
• Manage pre- and post-award activities, including OTIS entries, revenue allocation, award modifications, and compliance.
• Provide quality control for proposals and ensure alignment with IRC standards and prioritized funding needs.
• Collaborate with ER fundraising teams and RAI sites to strengthen processes for private-sector partnerships.

Requirements

• 3-6 years in private fundraising, grant management, or related field, including 3+ years with humanitarian/migration programs.
• Experience managing private awards across dispersed teams, donor compliance, budgeting, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of private donor motivations and partnering with fundraisers.
• Proven success in proposals and donor reports; excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment with diverse, remote teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with medium- to large-scale humanitarian/migration programs.
• Familiarity with RAI programs or networks in refugee/asylum space.
• Experience with grant management/CRM systems like OTIS or Salesforce.
