Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Databases): Leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly reliable and scalable database systems infrastructure with an accent on performance optimization, incident response, and scalability planning. Location: Tallinn, Estonia (hybrid with minimum 2 days in office per week)

What you will do

• Lead design, automation, and maintenance of scalable database infrastructure for high-load, high-data-volume environments.
• Plan for database growth and scalability to support business needs across all product lines.
• Participate in on-call rotations, perform root cause analysis, and lead incident response with postmortems.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize SQL queries, indexes, and configurations.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and metrics for core services.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on schema design, query reviews, and database best practices.
• Enforce security, access controls, and data governance compliance.

Requirements

• Proven track record in systems engineering with solid experience in Relational DBMS like MySQL (NewSQL/NoSQL beneficial).
• Strong Linux troubleshooting skills (networking, file systems, security, kernel) and understanding of large-scale distributed systems.
• Good coding skills in Python/Go/Rust/Bash, experience with AWS and infrastructure tools like Terraform/Ansible.
• Understanding of DevOps and Scrum practices, team player with empathy and communication skills.
