What you will do

• Lead design and development of AI controls, automating model building at scale while owning the IP&I AI control framework, testing, assurance, and remediation.
• Develop and tune machine learning models to monitor customer outcomes and evaluate performance using advanced techniques like forecasting and ensemble methods.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business leaders, product managers, risk specialists, data scientists, and ML/AI engineers.
• Partner with Group Responsible AI team to embed ethical principles, bias mitigation, and compliance into AI workflows; represent IP&I in governance meetings.
• Mentor junior data scientists and AI engineers, fostering continuous learning and guiding complex AI use cases.
• Maintain awareness of emerging tools, develop proof-of-concepts, and strengthen control monitoring with new AI models and analytics.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with Foundation Models, understanding theory and applying them creatively to solve complex challenges.
• Strong Machine Learning expertise to assess solutions, troubleshoot models, and use advanced methods like ensemble and stacking.
• 5+ years in Python with multi-threading, asyncio, performance optimization, and advanced debugging.
• AI literacy for designing workflows, anticipating behaviors, and contributing to strategy.
• Experience designing/applying controls, ideally with testing focused on customer protection.
• Google Cloud Platform proficiency for end-to-end delivery following standard architectures.
• Leadership experience task/line managing teams of 10+ to deliver strategic initiatives.
