Policy Analyst (LATAM)

Policy Analyst (LATAM): Ensure effective execution of complex cross-functional plans advancing key AI policy priorities across Latin America, engaging external stakeholders to drive AI safety and policy progress. Focus on developing strategies, supporting regulatory market entry, creating stakeholder maps, and translating technical research into policy proposals and thought leadership.

Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid: at least 25% in office, regular travel to Latin America required)

Salary: $230,000 - $265,000 USD

What you will do

• Develop strategies, implementation plans, and metrics for hirify.global's LATAM policy objectives
• Support smooth regulatory entry into new LATAM markets
• Propose programming and build relationships with policymakers, think tanks, and non-profits, focusing on Brazil and key markets
• Create policy stakeholder maps and strategic engagement plans tailored to LATAM contexts
• Collaborate with policy and technical teams to translate research into proposals, education, and thought leadership for LATAM
• Draft and amplify public submissions, RFIs, and policy memos to influence AI policy

Requirements

• Fluent in Portuguese and English (Spanish strongly preferred) for engaging policymakers and drafting materials
• Track record in tech/AI policy advocacy in LATAM, deep knowledge of Brazil's regulatory landscape
• Skilled researcher, analyst, and writer
• Experience engaging governments, policymakers, and civil society on complex technical topics
• Success identifying and convening regional stakeholders across Latin America
• Experience in fast-paced, cross-functional global teams
• Location: Based in San Francisco headquarters with regular LATAM travel

• Extensive experience with government regulators in Brazil, Mexico, and major LATAM markets
• Quick learning of complex technical and policy areas
