Structural Lathe Hand - 2nd Shift

What you will do

• Receive work assignments, examine prints, and determine machining procedures and tolerances.
• Select and install chuck jaws, align and secure workpieces using tailstock or steadyrest.
• Set speeds, feeds, and tools; operate lathe for facing, boring, turning, drilling, and chamfering.
• Grind tools, burr and clean parts, inspect and gage work in progress.
• Maintain oil levels, cutting oils, and coolants; record production data.
• Operate automatic spline mill if required and ensure good housekeeping.

Requirements

• Experience setting up and operating lathes and drills with accessories.
• Knowledge of machining carbon/alloy steels, non-ferrous metals, castings, forgings, etc.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment and perform metal-cutting operations.
• Work under general supervision; available for 2nd shift in Lancaster, OH, US.
