What you will do

• Optimize OCT systems for noise and detection efficiency using experiments and physical modeling of supercontinuum sources, detectors, and system performance.
• Acquire high-resolution deep-tissue images from clinically relevant samples via superresolution and 3D Fourier OCT signal processing.
• Develop compact, robust, and cost-effective OCT systems suitable for clinical settings.
• Collaborate with applied physicists, clinicians, and technicians at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and Erasmus Medical Center.
• Contribute to team efforts in skin cancer imaging research.

Requirements

• Good communication skills in English as a prerequisite.
• MSc degree in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Enthusiasm and drive for applied physics, optics, imaging system design, and signal processing.
• Ability to work in a physics environment interacting with applied physics, high-tech industry, and biomedicine partners.
• English proficiency for Doctoral Education courses, scientific writing, and communication (check Graduate Schools Admission Requirements).
