What you will do

• Translate optical sensing concepts into scalable photonic solutions within an industrial context.
• Define requirements, architecture, and technology development needs for the photonics roadmap.
• Design and specify photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
• Define and execute experiments for the evaluation of developed PICs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams and external academic institutes.
• Identify new concepts to address technology maturity and future tool needs.

Requirements

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Applied Physics.
• 4+ years of experience in the field of integrated photonics.
• Experience in PIC design, specification, and manufacturing, including interaction with foundries.
• Proficiency in numerical methods such as FDTD, EME, and FEM, and optics modeling software (e.g., Lumerical).
• Hands-on experience with the experimental evaluation of photonic integrated circuits.
• Ability to translate complex functional needs into detailed design specifications.
