Safety Technician

TL;DR

Safety Technician (Industrial Construction): Conducting safety orientations, inspections, training, and implementing HS&E programs with an accent on behavior-based safety, compliance auditing, and risk management. What you will do

• Conduct orientations, educate, and train employees on safety, policies, procedures, and HSE regulations
• Perform unscheduled and scheduled inspections of work areas
• Implement HS&E programs in behavior-based safety, compliance auditing, process safety, and risk management
• Provide coaching and support to construction field operations
• Supervise and administer safety activities
• Participate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and execute corrective actions
• Review and provide input on construction work plans with project managers

Requirements

• Minimum 1-3 years safety experience in industrial construction or equivalent schooling
• Experience in excavation, lifting/rigging, crane operations, demolition, lead/asbestos abatement, confined space, working at height, steel erection, scaffold, and other construction processes
• Experience with work permitting (working at height, crane lifts, confined space, excavation, lock out/tag out)
• Excellent written/verbal communication, time management, organizational skills; ability to speak in front of large crowds
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety/health training
• Physical ability to walk extensively, climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds in diverse environments
