TL;DR
Principal Consultant (Azure): Designing, governing, and driving adoption of Microsoft Azure cloud solutions for Federal government agencies with an accent on Protected-level security compliance and enterprise architectures. Focus on developing reference architectures, ensuring alignment with ISM, PSPF, and ACSC Essential Eight, and leading IaC initiatives in IRAP-assessed regions.
Canberra based. Must be an Australian Citizen with active AGSVA Baseline Clearance (NV1 preferred or eligible to obtain).

What you will do
- Lead design and documentation of enterprise-grade Azure architectures for Department of Defence ERP project using IRAP-assessed regions.
- Architect Protected-level secure solutions with encryption, identity governance, network segmentation, and data sovereignty.
- Ensure compliance with ISM, PSPF, ACSC Essential Eight via threat modelling, security reviews, Azure Policy, and RBAC.
- Provide technical leadership for IaC (Bicep, Terraform, ARM) and drive DevOps/CI/CD adoption.
- Engage senior government stakeholders, mentor engineers, and contribute to capability development.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years in enterprise IT architecture, 4+ years on Azure; Australian Federal Government experience.
- Australian Government security clearance at NV1 level minimum, eligibility for higher.
- Australian Citizen.
- Deep expertise in Azure IaaS/PaaS/hybrid, Entra ID, Networking, Policy, Defender for Cloud, Monitor.
- ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight, IRAP knowledge; IaC, CI/CD, DevOps experience.
- Excellent communication for architectural documentation and stakeholder influence.
