Release Engineer (Salesforce/AWS)

TL;DR

Release Engineer (Salesforce/AWS): Coordinate and execute application and infrastructure releases for a cloud-based platform for VA Loan Guaranty Service with an accent on CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and compliance. Focus on managing environment promotions, troubleshooting deployment issues, and ensuring release governance across multiple environments.

Location: 100% Remote (US-based). Hours: 40 hours/week during core business hours 8am-5pm ET. Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Salary: $80,000-$140,000

What you will do

• Automate build, deployment, and environment provisioning processes.
• Maintain and support CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce, AWS services, and API integrations.
• Coordinate deployment activities, environment promotions, release scheduling, and stakeholder communication.
• Validate release readiness, monitor deployments, troubleshoot failures, and perform post-deployment validation.
• Ensure compliance with change management, security, and governance requirements.
• Maintain release documentation and collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in DevOps, release engineering, or deployment management.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Salesforce deployments (metadata, environments, pipeline tools).
• AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway; API-based integrations.
• Git version control; change management and release governance processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with federal government IT or VA systems.
• Salesforce DevOps tools (Copado, Gearset, AutoRABIT).
• Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
• Monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog).
• ITIL practices; relevant AWS or Salesforce certifications.
