TL;DR

Pay Range: $100,000-$115,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

  • Serve as technical expert for optical assembly processes.
  • Support transition of new optical assemblies from prototype to full-rate production.
  • Conduct analyses to assess and validate assembly processes and tool designs.
  • Create and improve documentation for optical assembly manufacturing.
  • Train technicians on tools and processes for current and transitioning assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot existing assembly tools and processes.
  • Monitor and improve production processes using Statistical Process Control.
  • Support procurement and quality with supplier evaluation and selection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Physics, Optics, etc.); advanced degree desirable.
  • 7+ years experience in optics-related field desirable.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving tools (8D, DMAIC, etc).
  • Proficiency with Statistical Process Control.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
  • Experience with adhesive selection and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with optical modeling software such as Zemax, Code V, FRED.
  • Experience with optical alignment and bonding.
  • Experience with automation programming (PC and/or PLC).
