What you will do

• Lead DFMA reviews across development phases, quantifying cost, cycle time, yield, and tooling impacts while driving design simplification.
• Perform producibility assessments, MRL evaluations, yield modeling, bottoms-up cost models, and make vs. buy analyses.
• Own manufacturing planning from prototype to full-rate production, developing MBOM, work instructions, tooling, and test processes.
• Provide hands-on support for pilot builds, root cause analysis, supplier integration, and production qualification.
• Develop production rate models, implement automation and error-proofing, and analyze metrics for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain DoD clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related STEM field
• 5+ years experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or high-rate electromechanical production
• Demonstrated experience in DFMA implementation and transitioning hardware to production
• Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), tolerance stack-up analysis, root cause methodologies, and manufacturing process capability (Cp, Cpk)
• Experience developing manufacturing documentation (MBOM, work instructions, process flows)

Nice to have

• Experience with missile, interceptor, UAV, or guided munition systems
• Experience scaling to high-rate production and low-cost/high-volume defense environments
• Familiarity with automated assembly, robotic integration, composites fabrication, harness/PCBA integration
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS, PLM systems, MES/ERP, and MRL assessments
