Process Engineer/Scientist (Silicon and III-V)

Location: Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, Canada. Regular full-time, onsite role.

What you will do

• Provide technical support for silicon device, III-V photodiode, and laser emitter fabrication processes.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize automated process control mechanisms using Six Sigma principles.
• Develop, qualify, and transfer processes to production; plan and conduct experimental studies to improve or create manufacturing processes.
• Participate in equipment selection, acquisition, and qualification, and maintain an active technology watch.
• Communicate results, establish project timelines, train production personnel, and maintain cleanroom and documentation standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or chemistry.
• At least 1 year of experience in microelectronic device fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of microfabrication processes, including photolithography, metrology, wet etching, plasma etching, diffusion, CVD deposition, metallization, and optical coatings.
• Proficiency in spoken and written French is required to operate in a francophone work environment.
• Excellent spoken and written English is required for technical and international communications.
• Strong organizational skills, rigor, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or additional relevant experience.
• Experience in plasma etching and wet etching.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology and statistical process control; Green Belt certification.
• Experience in project management.
