What you will do

• Apply state-of-the-art methods in transcriptomics, biochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, and cryo-electron tomography to study RNA and protein synthesis in subcellular space.
• Integrate subcellular transcriptomics, selective ribosome profiling, proteomics, and structural approaches to define the ciliary transcriptome.
• Identify localized translation events and characterize ribonucleoprotein complexes driving ciliogenesis.
• Collaborate with research groups in mRNA biology, structural biology, cell biology, and -omics technologies.
• Develop independent research projects in interdisciplinary science.

Requirements

• PhD in molecular biology or related discipline with focus on RNA biology, biochemistry, structural biology, and/or cell biology
• Proven track record in molecular biology research
• Strong background in biochemistry, mRNA translation, and cell biology
• Independence in mammalian tissue culture, basic molecular biology, and microscopy
• Ability to optimize RNA, protein, and protein-RNA complex extraction/purification (ultracentrifugation, polysome profiling, immunoprecipitation, proximity labeling)
• Fluency in English

Nice to have

• Expertise in protein/RNA biology in subcellular compartments
• Previous experience with cilia biology
• Familiarity with cryo-EM and/or cryo-electron tomography
• Independence in transcriptomics/proteomics data analysis
