Staff Accountant

TL;DR

Staff Accountant: Take ownership of key general ledger functions including fixed assets, insurance accounting, and month-end close processes with an accent on comprehensive reconciliations and accurate financial reporting. Focus on managing fixed asset lifecycle, executing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and providing ad-hoc analysis to support the finance team.

Location: Remote from anywhere in the U.S., excluding U.S. territories. Core meeting hours 9AM–2PM Pacific time. Occasional travel may be requested but not required. Employees in San Francisco Bay Area or Providence, Rhode Island may commute to local offices as desired.

Salary: $105,000 to $125,000

What you will do

• Own the full fixed asset lifecycle, including acquisitions, disposals, and cross-functional reporting.
• Manage insurance accounting manual and ensure transactions align with company policy.
• Execute month-end close journal entries and prepare financial statements.
• Perform account, bank, fixed assets, and insurance reconciliations.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and collaborate across teams for smooth finance operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent + 3–5 years in finance/accounting
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, Excel proficiency, and accounting principles knowledge
• Excellent communication, organization, and ability to manage priorities in dynamic environment
• Proactive learner committed to confidentiality and teamwork

Nice to have

• Prior use of accounting software
• Experience reconciling bank accounts
• Insurance accounting experience
