Site Infrastructure Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Austin, Texas; on-site work required. Remote work is not available.

What you will do

• Assemble, image, rack, cable, troubleshoot, and maintain custom-built servers with current CPUs and GPUs.
• Deploy and maintain switches, routers, and structured cabling across garage and office sites.
• Resolve hardware, network, and ISP connectivity issues end to end.
• Select server configurations based on workload requirements and hardware trade-offs.
• Maintain network throughput, infrastructure uptime, rack layouts, power, cooling, and equipment lifecycle.
• Create runbooks, infrastructure diagrams, and configuration documentation while supporting engineering and operations teams.

Requirements

• Enterprise networking experience at administrator or engineer level with MikroTik, Cisco, Juniper, Ubiquiti, FS, or similar equipment.
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, and high-throughput network architecture.
• Solid Linux administration skills, including system configuration, diagnostics, and networking.
• Experience assembling, troubleshooting, and selecting server hardware configurations.
• Comfort with physical work including racking, stacking, cabling, and maintaining server-room environments.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. is required; relocation and visa sponsorship are not offered.

Nice to have

• Experience with server-room or small data-center design, including power planning, cooling, and layout.
• Familiarity with NixOS or declarative system management.
• Scripting experience with Python or Bash.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Experience scaling infrastructure in a fast-growing environment.
