Salary: $80,000–$105,000 annually (Blacksburg, VA)

What you will do

• Support operations as SME in import regulations and ensure compliance with import laws.
• Perform HTSUS classifications, validate country-of-origin, valuation, and duty calculations.
• Manage FTA supplier qualifications and restricted-party screenings for imports.
• Analyze tariff impacts, identify duty-savings, and support stakeholder inquiries.
• Maintain trade data, support audits, and develop compliant processes.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, communicate across departments, and stay current on regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (preference for International Business, Supply Chain, or related)
• 5+ years in trade compliance or similar role
• Ability to analyze complex situations and propose compliant solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Harmonized Tariff Schedule, valuation, Customs regulations, and FTAs.
• Experience with ERP systems like SAP/GTS preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work with CBP Automated Commercial Environment.

Nice to have

• Trade Certifications (Licensed Customs Broker, Certified Customs Specialist).
• Experience in import operations for manufacturing and Partner Government Agencies (FDA, ITAR, EAR, EPA).
