Location: Redmond, WA (onsite, must be U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee per ITAR requirements; ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI clearance required

Salary: $125,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Create highly reliable software systems controlling satellite constellations
• Leverage software design to improve performance, security, and availability for diverse users
• Handle full lifecycle: from needs analysis and prototyping to development, testing, on-orbit rollout, and operational support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and build satellite capabilities like sensors, inter-satellite lasers, and space-based cloud compute
• Write Linux-based C++ software for processors and microcontrollers
• Implement networking, automated ground systems, models/simulations, and CI/CD tools

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline OR 2+ years professional software development experience
• Development experience in C, C++, Python, or full stack
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI clearance
• ITAR: U.S. citizen/national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed

Nice to have

• Deployed software in real-world applications
• Knowledge of computer architecture and networks
• Skills in debugging, performance optimization, unit testing
• Experience with networking protocols, Linux kernel, C++ for high-performance systems, image processing, machine learning, math/physics
