Financial Analyst, Finance Shared Services

TL;DR

Financial Analyst (Finance Shared Services): Supports day-to-day finance operations for local IRC offices including accounts payable processing, donor invoicing, month-end close activities, and budget maintenance with an accent on accuracy, compliance with policies, and donor requirements. Focus on reviewing transactions, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and liaising with HQ finance teams.

Location: Hybrid position; candidate must be located within commuting distance of an IRC local office (New York, NY HQ and 29 U.S. cities)

Compensation: $26.00 - $33.33 per hour

What you will do

• Process accounts payable transactions, review invoices for accuracy and approvals, and ensure timely payments.
• Support donor invoice preparation, submission, receivables tracking, and alignment with grant budgets.
• Assist with month-end close including transaction reviews, journal entries, and data validation.
• Upload and maintain grant budgets in financial systems, verifying coding and chart of accounts usage.
• Provide operational finance support to assigned local offices and perform related duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• 2–4 years in accounting, finance, or financial operations; experience with accounts payable, reconciliations, data entry required
• Experience in nonprofit or donor-funded environments preferred
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, multitasking in fast-paced settings
• Effective communication with finance and non-finance staff
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems required
