TL;DR

Location: Remote, must live and work within a few time zones of Pacific (California) time. We are on Zoom and Slack a lot.

Salary: $120,000 - $170,000 a year

What you will do

• Own complex features end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment.
• Build reliable, scalable Rails systems across models, services, background jobs, APIs, and front end.
• Collaborate closely with product and design to refine specs and inform decisions.
• Leverage AI tools for code generation, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical debt, leaving the codebase better.
• Mentor teammates through code reviews and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional Ruby on Rails experience in production.
• Deep knowledge of Rails conventions, ActiveRecord, background processing (Sidekiq), RESTful APIs.
• Strong focus on performance, security, maintainability.
• Experience with front-end technologies and JavaScript for clean UIs.
• Active use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude) in daily workflow.
• Excellent written communication for PRs and technical docs.
• Comfort owning work independently and flagging blockers.

Nice to have

• Experience with financial, legal, or compliance SaaS products.
• Familiarity with fund administration, venture capital workflows.
• Hotwire/Turbo/Stimulus or modern Rails front-end patterns.
