Frontend Engineer

TL;DR

Frontend Engineer (Rails): Build polished, performant front-end experiences for Decile Hub SaaS platform with an accent on UI layer, responsive behavior, accessibility, and interaction design. Focus on translating designs into real interfaces using Hotwire, Turbo, Stimulus, actively using AI coding tools, and improving UI consistency across the product.

Location: Remote, must live and work within a few time zones of Pacific (California) time. We are on Zoom and Slack a lot.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 a year

What you will do

• Build polished, performant front-end experiences, owning UI layer from layout and interaction design to responsive behavior and accessibility.
• Work within Rails codebase using Hotwire, Turbo, Stimulus alongside ERB templates, understanding Rails request cycle.
• Translate designs into functional interfaces that feel great, collaborating with product and design teams.
• Use AI coding tools actively for UI generation, debugging, refactoring, and writing tests.
• Improve UI consistency and quality, systematizing patterns, reusing components, and contributing to design system.

Requirements

• 3+ years professional front-end development experience, including work within Rails applications.
• Strong command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript for complex layouts and interactions without heavy frameworks.
• Experience with Hotwire/Turbo/Stimulus or eagerness to learn deeply.
• Genuine eye for good UI and active use of AI coding tools in workflow.
• Ability to communicate clearly with designers and product managers.
• Portfolio or examples of shipped work; complete Rails coding challenge in interview.

Nice to have

• Experience with Tailwind CSS or utility-first frameworks.
• Familiarity with data-heavy or workflow-heavy SaaS interfaces like tables, forms, dashboards.
• Basic comfort with Ruby and Rails beyond front-end.
