Infrastructure Engineer

TL;DR

Infrastructure Engineer: Support deployment, operation, and evolution of internal platforms and applications with an accent on physical systems, network devices, virtualization, and security. Focus on driving development for new systems, handling tier-two escalations, implementing security policies, and managing updates and patching.

Location: Hybrid - must work from office in Santa Clara, CA at least two days a week and as needed

Salary: $175,000 - $210,000

What you will do

• Drive development for physical systems, network devices, and virtual machines to add, replace, or integrate functionality
• Handle tier-two escalations for corporate systems, write runbooks, and perform knowledge transfer
• Implement corporate security policies across all systems
• Drive updates, patching, and operations for infrastructure both on-prem and in-cloud
• Debug hard problems across a range of system types and collaborate with security and engineering teams

Requirements

• Thirst for knowledge and ability to debug complex issues on diverse systems
• Experience configuring, operating, and maintaining virtualization hosts (Kubernetes/OpenShift, VMware vCenter/ESXi)
• Experience with DDI systems (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), network/security infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls)
• Working knowledge of backup/disaster recovery, wireless networking, CLI/Linux, and application security (certificates, VPNs, encryption)
• Understanding of network concepts (IP allocation, routing, switching, firewalls, proxies; CCNA-level or better)
• 3-5 years hands-on experience with network equipment and servers

• Scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, git, REST APIs)
• Cloud experience (AWS provisioning and usage)
• File servers, NAS, iSCSI, access/identity systems (SSO, LDAP, VPN)
• Comfort with AI tools and effective prompting
