Incident Manager - Detection & Response (Cybersecurity): Own and evolve the end-to-end incident management program for detecting, responding to, and learning from security threats with an accent on post-incident reviews, trend analysis, and cross-functional improvements. Focus on driving accountability for systemic fixes, analyzing incident patterns, and implementing preventive measures across engineering, security, and product teams.

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY (hybrid policy: at least 25% time in office)

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end D&R incident management: detection workflows, response processes, escalation, communication, and remediation tracking.
  • Serve as incident commander for security incidents, coordinating across executive, engineering, security, legal, and other stakeholders.
  • Establish and run incident commander rotations, ensuring effective coordination during incidents.
  • Drive post-incident accountability by capturing, assigning, tracking action items, and ensuring tactical and strategic improvements.
  • Gather and analyze incident trends to identify systemic risks and root causes, translating into cross-functional initiatives.
  • Lead incident review forums, develop documentation, playbooks, runbooks, and training materials.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in technical program management, incident management, or security operations, with experience in detection & response or security incident response.
  • Track record of building incident response programs and driving cross-functional systemic improvements from incident data.
  • Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and leading high-severity incidents, including off-hours.
  • Strong analytical skills for incident trend analysis, metrics reporting, and data-driven prioritization.
  • Excellent communication under pressure, influencing without authority across technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant field.
