TL;DR

Mechanical Engineer (Medtech): Design mechanical parts and subassemblies for point-of-care EEG platform with an accent on user, functional, and regulatory requirements. Focus on collaborating with R&D team, supplier development, risk management, verification/validation processes, and reliability testing including drop, ingress, thermal, and cycle tests.

Hybrid: requires 3-5 days per week in Sunnyvale offices

Compensation: $43.50 - $49 USD

Medical technology company transforming diagnosis and management of neurological conditions with rapid seizure detection EEG platform used in hospitals across the US.

What you will do

  • Design mechanical parts and subassemblies meeting user, functional, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with R&D team to ensure successful product design and manufacture.
  • Research and work with external suppliers for custom parts development.
  • Participate in risk management and develop verification/validation processes with Quality team.
  • Work with testing labs for product compliance and certification.
  • Conduct reliability testing (drop, ingress, thermal, cycle).
  • Produce documentation: engineering drawings, BOM, tolerance analysis, design reviews.
  • Assist with DFX: assembly optimization, fixture design, line bring-up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Science or Engineering
  • Experience with medical device research and/or development
  • 3+ years of experience with mechanical design and CAD tools
  • 2+ years of experience with manufacturing and assembly process development
