Salary: $180,000 - 220,000 CAD base salary

What you will do

• Design and build scalable APIs and atomic settlement workflows.
• Implement fund encumbrance processes and multi-currency settlement.
• Ensure data quality by implementing strategic database locking and clear audit trails.
• Write rigorous tests covering edge cases and invariant violations.
• Debug distributed systems issues, including race conditions and deadlocks.
• Document system architecture, account relationships, and workflows.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend development, with 2+ years in complex financial systems.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and/or Golang.
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and event-driven architectures using Kafka.
• Strong command of microservices architecture and data consistency patterns.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and validating AI-generated code.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or a related field.
• Strong interest in the trading industry, crypto markets, and blockchain technology.

Nice to have

• Advanced Kafka knowledge.
• Deep understanding of compliance controls and audit trail requirements.
• Proven experience building high-scale, public-facing APIs.
• Ability to work full-stack, with familiarity in React.
• Experience developing consumer-facing crypto products or working directly with client operations.
