Location: Kaunas, Vilnius. Hybrid work model where 2 days in office are recommended but not enforced.

Salary: €6,542 - €8,842 gross per month.

What you will do

• Build systems that help millions of members resolve issues quickly and effortlessly, shaping the support experience on a platform used by 100+ million users.
• Design and evolve backend services that power conversational support, enabling intelligent interactions between members and our platform.
• Drive architectural evolution and shape the system architecture to increase team autonomy and long-term scalability.
• Develop and operate distributed systems using a modern backend stack including Golang, Vitess, Redis, Kafka, Vespa, and Temporal.
• Transform our backend service that powers our customer support chatbot into the central orchestration layer for support conversations across the marketplace.
• Build observable, reliable systems, instrumenting services using OpenTelemetry and monitoring them through Grafana, and Kibana.

Requirements

• Backend Engineering Expertise: You have several years of experience building backend systems in production environments and have developed strong knowledge across multiple high-level programming languages.
• Strong knowledge in Golang, while experience with Ruby is a plus.
• Systems & Architecture Thinking: You have experience designing and evolving complex backend systems and can balance short-term delivery needs with long-term scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Technical Leadership: You are able to drive important technical initiatives and influence architectural direction, helping teams navigate system evolution and technical improvements.
• Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: You actively support other engineers through mentorship, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, contributing to a strong engineering culture.
• Curiosity for Emerging Technologies: You are excited to learn and master new technologies and concepts. Experience leveraging AI and LLMs in production environments—such as chatbots or search systems—is a strong plus.
