TL;DR

Industrial Design Co-op (Hardware): Developing consumer lifestyle products from concept to final CAD and prototyping with an accent on user-centered design and visual identity. Focus on creating high-fidelity renderings, building functional prototypes, and collaborating with engineering for production-ready CAD files.

Location: Onsite in Needham, MA, United States (5 days per week). There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position.

Salary: $26 - $35 USD per hour

What you will do

• Support Industrial Design leads on real product launches from brainstorming to market.
• Translate consumer insights into functional and emotionally impactful design solutions.
• Create sketches, illustrations, and high-fidelity renderings to inspire cross-functional teams.
• Build visual and functional prototypes to test ideas and push design boundaries.
• Develop production-ready CAD files using SolidWorks or Rhino.
• Define the full look and feel of products, including surface finishes, color, material, and texture.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an Industrial Design bachelor’s or master’s program.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week onsite in Needham, MA.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Rhino for precise product design.
• Experience with Keyshot for high-quality 3D renderings.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating the product development process.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
