What you will do

• Lead and grow a high-performing embedded engineering organization responsible for firmware across multiple product categories.
• Own end-to-end firmware delivery, from initial architecture and design through implementation, validation, and release.
• Define and enforce engineering best practices in coding standards, documentation, testing, and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with Controls Engineering and Systems Quality Assurance (SysQA) to ensure seamless integration and performance.
• Establish KPIs and quality metrics to maintain firmware stability and long-term maintainability.
• Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers while representing the department in executive-level discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in embedded systems development, including 3+ years in firmware engineering management.
• Deep expertise in embedded C/C++, RTOS environments, and microcontroller architectures.
• Proven track record of delivering production-quality firmware for complex consumer electronics.
• Experience leading global engineering teams and collaborating across different time zones and cultures.
• Strong proficiency in Agile development and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).

Nice to have

• Experience with connected devices, IoT products, or smart home ecosystems.
• Knowledge of device-to-mobile connectivity (BLE, WiFi) and cloud-based communication protocols.
• Experience with full-stack architectures integrating mobile apps, cloud services, and embedded systems.
• Background in robotics or hardware-integrated software products.
