What you will do

• Lead the design and development of consumer electronics from initial concept through to production.
• Coordinate team tasks to ensure timely delivery of functional prototypes for internal research and review.
• Define electrical and firmware architectures to guide contract manufacturers and global engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Marketing to establish EBOM cost estimates and work effort for prototypes.
• Ensure products meet global certification standards and resolve EMI/EMC issues through methodical root cause analysis.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and technologists.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in technical leadership for embedded hardware and firmware projects.
• Proven expertise in component selection, system architecture, and design verification.
• Experience delivering products that meet Design for Manufacturability (DFM), testability, and reliability guidelines.
• Proficiency in developing, testing, and debugging embedded firmware for microcontrollers.
• Must be located in or authorized to work in the United States (Needham, MA).

Nice to have

• Familiarity with compilers, IDEs, JIRA, and SVN.
• Previous experience in the consumer goods industry or with a consumer product consulting firm.
