What you will do

• Develop Java-based backend services and APIs to support residential battery programs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and internal teams to build high-impact features.
• Implement CI/CD best practices, data modeling, and rapid prototyping (PoCs).
• Maintain technical documentation and drive a "Dev Owns Quality" culture.
• Partner with battery providers like Tesla and Sunrun to enhance grid flexibility.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java (preferably 11+) and Python.
• Experience with web services and RESTful APIs using Spring.
• Knowledge of modern security best practices and authentication/authorization frameworks.
• Must be based in the United States; sponsorship for employment authorization is not available.

Nice to have

• Extensive data engineering experience (data pipelines, quality, monitoring).
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with AWS (S3), MongoDB, Snowflake, or DBT.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines.
