Software Architect (IoT/SaaS)

Software Architect (Cloud/Distributed Systems): Designing and leading the transition to a distributed architecture using Domain-Driven Design and platform engineering strategies with an accent on sociotechnical organizational design and cloud economics. What you will do

• Lead the strategic extraction and move into a distributed architecture using Domain-Driven Design.
• Apply sociotechnical design and the Inverse Conway Maneuver to ensure loosely coupled and scalable software.
• Guide the creation of an internal developer platform to reduce cognitive load while maintaining autonomy.
• Build scalable frameworks for asynchronous decision-making (RFCs and ADRs) and mentor Staff and Principal engineers.
• Act as a translation layer between the C-suite and engineering to quantify technical debt and calculate TCO for build vs. buy decisions.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with a track record at a Principal or Distinguished level.
• Deep expertise in modern cloud architecture, distributed systems, data consistency patterns, and FinOps.
• Ability to drive organization-wide alignment and mediate technical disputes without relying on positional power.
• Fluency in Team Topologies and platform engineering metrics such as DORA and the SPACE framework.
• Must have valid US work authorization; sponsorship is not available for this position.
