Network Engineer (Low-Latency Trading)

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and support the low-latency exchange network environment.
• Configure enterprise and production network devices using Ansible and Python.
• Respond to network alerts, error logs, and incidents; remediate issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Perform new customer connection turn-ups and handle tickets involving IP prefixes and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Analyze and validate new products and coordinate with Security and business teams on secure end-user solutions.
• Collaborate with data center and circuit providers to improve infrastructure performance and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with low-latency, highly available distributed systems and supporting network architectures.
• Understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, including IGMP, MLAG, ARP, BGP, NAT, and PIM.
• Understanding of IP multicast routing, including PIM-SM and PIM-Bidir, plus NTP and PTP timing protocols.
• Experience with network operating systems such as EOS, IOS, and PAN-OS, as well as firewall design and configuration.
• Knowledge of optical fiber types and transceivers, with the ability to analyze packet captures using Wireshark and tcpdump.
• Familiarity with Mac and Linux; scripting with Python and Ansible is preferred.
