What you will do

• Architect and own core systems powering real-time AI voice and compliance workflows.
• Optimize performance to deliver sub-700ms latency using event-driven architecture and parallel processing.
• Deploy, operate, and scale resilient distributed systems using Kubernetes.
• Develop a self-improving AI system that evolves based on customer interactions and human feedback.
• Ship features rapidly from whiteboard design to live production in banking environments.

Requirements

• Strong fundamentals in building high-performance, real-time backend systems, primarily using Python.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Excellent database design and performance optimization skills.
• Bias for ownership and ability to operate in messy, high-velocity environments.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience training, designing, or building production AI/ML systems.
• Previous startup or founder experience.
