Founding Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in San Francisco (On-site)

Salary: $130,000 – $200,000

What you will do

• Architect and own core systems powering real-time AI voice and compliance workflows.
• Deliver sub-700ms latency using event-driven architecture and parallel processing.
• Deploy, operate, and scale resilient systems using Kubernetes and distributed sub-systems.
• Build self-improving AI systems that evolve with customer interaction and feedback.
• Ship products from whiteboard design to live production in bank environments.

Requirements

• Strong fundamentals in building high-performance, real-time backend systems (primarily Python).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Excellent database design and performance optimization skills.
• Bias for ownership and ability to navigate high-velocity, ambiguous environments.
• Must be able to work on-site in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience with training, designing, or building production AI/ML systems.
• Previous startup or founder experience.
