Location: Hybrid in Guildford, UK (required 3 days a week in studio)

What you will do

• Create prototypes and designs for gameplay content, mechanics, and systems.
• Write detailed documentation communicating functionality, logic, tuning, and player outcomes.
• Implement and tune interactive objects and mechanics that power story-driven simulation.
• Collaborate with art, engineering, and QA teams and partner with producers to scope features.
• Use quantitative and qualitative player insights to drive a data-informed design process.
• Troubleshoot in-engine and provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience with at least one shipped AAA title.
• Experience in builders, simulation, sandbox, or life-sim games.
• Proficiency in logic, scripting, and in-engine implementation (e.g., Unreal, XML, Blueprints).
• Experience with version control (Perforce, Git) and task tracking (Jira).
• Comfort designing content around themes like identity, relationships, and social dynamics.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Guildford, UK (3 days a week in studio).
