What you will do

• Create small and large scale crowd simulations for feature films and animation using Houdini and Maya.
• Take ownership of the complete crowd lifecycle from initial layout and previz through to final rendering and compositing.
• Troubleshoot and debug production shot issues for artists and technical teams.
• Collaborate with development and workflow supervisors to refine pipeline integration for crowd tasks.
• Proactively prototype and test shot pipelines to demonstrate crowd effects to creative leadership.
• Ensure technical and creative quality control of incoming and outgoing assets.

Requirements

• Must be based in British Columbia, Canada and possess legal authorization to work in Canada.
• 2+ years of professional experience developing crowd setups for VFX, film, or animation.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Graphics or Computer Science.
• Proficiency in Houdini is essential.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing project priorities.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Maya and Atoms Crowd.
• Experience with Python and Vex scripting.
• Ability to animate character and non-character assets.
