Senior Software Engineer, Full-stack (AI)

Location: San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle, United States. Hybrid policy requires staff to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more office attendance. Preference is given to candidates based in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, or the Bay Area.

What you will do

• Build and own full-stack consumer and enterprise products across Claude.ai, the Anthropic API, Claude Code, and mission-driven applications.
• Develop developer experience products and tools including consoles, SDKs, documentation, and observability systems.
• Build access programs, tooling, and product experiences that make frontier AI available to nonprofits, schools, healthcare providers, researchers, and economic mobility programs.
• Develop vertical AI products, enterprise extensibility, organizational context, proactive workflows, and public-sector applications.
• Build enterprise foundations covering identity, permissions, security, compliance, and administration analytics.
• Partner with engineering, product, design, research, data science, marketing, and go-to-market teams to deliver scalable growth and product initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of practical full-stack engineering experience.
• Experience designing and delivering complex consumer or B2B products across the full stack.
• Strong proficiency in modern frontend and backend development, including React and TypeScript.
• Product-focused approach to building robust, scalable, and easy-to-use solutions.
• Experience establishing engineering standards, component architectures, and development best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Experience in an early-stage startup or rapidly evolving environment.
• Experience building products from 0 to 1.
• Experience driving cross-team alignment and influencing without authority.
