What you will do

• Lead critical infrastructure projects from scoping and problem definition to successful delivery.
• Establish platform engineering standards and partner with product teams on reliability, performance, and architecture.
• Maintain and optimize AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and internal tooling.
• Communicate platform priorities and technical trade-offs to engineering leadership to build a prioritized roadmap.
• Mentor other engineers and provide technical guidance to foster professional growth.

Requirements

• 9+ years of backend/infrastructure engineering experience.
• 3+ years specifically in platform, SRE, or DevOps roles.
• Proven ability to stabilize unreliable systems, including CI and observability infrastructure.
• Experience working with NodeJS, PostgreSQL, and Redis at scale.
• Proficiency with AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform strongly preferred).
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes deployments, scaling, and security.
• Knowledge of distributed messaging systems.
• Proficiency with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Strong testing practices, specifically TDD.
