What you will do
- Work on the full rendering tech stack, from high-level tools and script interfaces to low-level API invocation and shader authoring.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain rendering features and tools within a live game environment.
- Create, architect, and document technical designs for new rendering features.
- Collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, including engineers, artists, technical artists, designers, producers, and QA.
- Contribute to healthy team morale and participate in game-wide feedback and discussions.
Requirements
- Expert technical experience in C++, shaders, and graphics APIs.
- Strong understanding of the graphics rendering pipeline and excellent 3D math skills.
- 5+ years of professional experience in games programming.
- Experience with console programming and working within a mature codebase.
- Must be local to Vancouver or LA, or willing to relocate.
Nice to have
- Expertise in shader performance, material artist workflows, lighting, or particle systems.
- Experience with post-processing, volumetrics, occlusion culling, and GPU-driven rendering.
- Knowledge of low-level graphics API abstraction, tools, and engine architecture.
- Specialization in environment or character rendering and CPU/GPU optimization.
