What you will do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design software for medical devices (Class I, II, and III) following IEC62304 standards.
- Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and mentoring to quality engineers on software reliability and engineering best practices.
- Evaluate designs for failure modes, assess hazards, and implement appropriate risk controls to ensure patient safety.
- Design and execute software reliability tests to validate system stability.
- Conduct technical reviews of requirements and engineering artifacts to ensure program commitments are met.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to increase team velocity and develop reusable software patterns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant technical experience, or an advanced degree with 2 years of experience.
- Proven experience in software design specifically for medical devices.
- Proficiency in at least two of the following: C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, C#, .NET, Python, Angular, or Xamarin.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
