What you will do

• Scale and optimize a high-throughput search platform handling 1.5B+ monthly requests using Kafka and Elasticsearch.
• Develop and evolve the core home discovery experience across web and mobile to improve engagement and lead conversion.
• Architect and maintain a reliable notifications platform delivering tens of millions of emails and SMS monthly.
• Integrate LLMs and intelligent ranking into search and user discovery workflows to enhance agent and buyer experiences.
• Shape platform architecture and lead AI-powered product delivery within a small, augmented engineering team.

Requirements

• Must be based in Latin America.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including time in senior or staff-level roles.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
• Experience designing scalable microservices in cloud-native environments, specifically AWS.
• Strong understanding of GraphQL, event-driven systems (Kafka, SQS), and distributed databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch).
• Proven track record of leading high-impact initiatives from concept to production in a SaaS environment.

Nice to have

• Daily experience building with AI agents and using tools like Claude Code as a core part of the workflow.
• Strong opinions on how AI transforms software architecture, team structure, and engineering culture.
