What you will do

• Define and uphold enterprise WordPress standards for security, reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Lead company-wide AI transformation initiatives to improve productivity, delivery speed, and code quality.
• Serve as the executive technical authority in high-stakes sales engagements, technical discovery, and strategic estimations.
• Mentor and develop Directors of Engineering to evolve engineering capabilities in line with market demands.
• Represent the company as a visible leader in the WordPress and open web ecosystem through thought leadership and open-source contributions.
• Manage the engineering budget and evaluate long-term technology investments against margin and growth goals.

Requirements

• Legal residence and work authorization in the USA, Canada, UK, or Australia.
• 15–20 years of experience in digital technology, including 5+ years in senior technical leadership of organizations with 25+ people.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise-scale WordPress implementations and the broader ecosystem.
• Proven experience leading AI adoption and organizational transformation.
• Deep expertise in enterprise WordPress architecture and platforms like WordPress VIP.
• Ability to thrive in a fully remote, distributed environment across diverse cultures and time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience creating and implementing productized services or SaaS-style offerings.
• Active participation in open-source communities, including WordPress core contributions.
• Experience operating in organizations with fewer than 100 people.
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks and CMS architectures at scale.
