What you will do
- Design and maintain high-quality, game-ready character rigs with clean deformation and efficient skinning.
- Implement animation systems in Unity3D, including Animator Controllers, blend trees, and state machines.
- Collaborate with character artists and developers to ensure animations integrate seamlessly with gameplay logic.
- Optimize rigging and animation pipelines for real-time and mobile platforms to balance quality and performance.
- Create tools and improve DCC-to-Unity workflows to streamline rigging and export processes.
- Serve as the technical reference for character setup and animation systems within the studio.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in technical animation or character rigging for games.
- Proven track record of shipping projects using Unity3D.
- Proficiency in Maya (preferred) or Blender for rigging and animation.
- Deep understanding of skinning, deformation, and rig performance optimization for real-time engines.
- Fluent English for collaboration within an international team.
- Must be able to work in a fully remote environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with mobile game development and performance-constrained platforms.
- Knowledge of Unity animation tools such as uMotion.
- Ability to build custom Unity editor extensions.
- Familiarity with procedural workflows in Houdini.
- Basic scripting skills in Python for workflow support.
