Location: 100% remote, but must be a resident of Ohio or within 25 miles of Ohio

Salary: $27 – $30 per hour (Annual: $56,160 – $62,400)

What you will do

• Evaluate student assignments in World/US History, Government, and Economics, providing comprehensive feedback.
• Host weekly virtual group tutoring and office hours to clarify curriculum concepts and offer support.
• Manage a caseload of up to 30 students as an Academic Advisor, conducting regular check-ins and creating support plans.
• Collaborate with Academic Counselors to implement tiered support solutions for struggling students.
• Act as the primary point of contact for parents and students regarding academic matters in social studies.
• Contribute to school-wide academic policies and lead an extracurricular club aligned with your expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in History, Secondary Education, or a related field.
• Ohio teaching certification or the ability to obtain it.
• At least 3 years of full-time experience teaching high school social studies in the United States.
• Must currently live in Ohio, within 25 miles of Ohio, or be willing to relocate to Ohio.
• Professional experience supporting secondary education students within the last 5 years.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and the ability to quickly learn new educational platforms and AI tools.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with online teaching.
• Licensure or professional experience in special education.
• Willingness to attend occasional in-person field trips and activities within Ohio.
