TL;DR

Senior Manager, Legislative Affairs (Nuclear): Leading the company’s engagement with Congress to secure funding, policy support, and authorizations for microreactor deployments across U.S. government customers. Focus on navigating complex authorization and appropriations processes to translate technical nuclear capabilities into legislative outcomes for national security and energy resilience missions.

Location: Must work 100% onsite at our DC office

Salary: $123,000 – $236,250

What you will do

  • Develop and execute congressional affairs strategies to support key U.S. government programs and deployment timelines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Members of Congress and committee staff across defense, energy, and homeland security portfolios.
  • Influence annual authorization and appropriations cycles, including hearings and legislative markups.
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into clear policy and budgetary objectives for federal stakeholders.
  • Prepare high-level briefing materials, hearing memos, and strategic recommendations for company leadership.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and trade associations to strengthen support for advanced nuclear deployments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
  • 7+ years of experience in congressional policy, appropriations, or government affairs.
  • Proven experience working on Capitol Hill or directly with Congress.
  • Deep understanding of congressional authorization and appropriations processes.
  • Must work 100% onsite at the DC office.
  • Must be able to serve in compliance with U.S. export controls; no visa sponsorship available.

Nice to have

  • Experience working for a congressional appropriations or authorizing committee.
  • Background at a government affairs firm or multi-client policy practice.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense budgeting and program structures.
  • Knowledge of nuclear energy, advanced energy technologies, or national security policy.
