Systems Engineer (Underwater Defence)

Kta naval systems is a joint venture owned by hirify.global, TKMS, and TKMS ATLAS ELEKTRONIK, serving as the exclusive supplier and Design Authority for combat systems delivered to TKMS submarines.

What you will do

• Participate in the design and development of the ORCCA combat system for conventional submarines.
• Coordinate technical topics with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to system architecture and interface definitions.
• Specify and follow up on subsystems delivered by external partners.
• Support system integration, testing, verification, and validation activities.

Requirements

• Degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline, or comparable relevant experience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across teams.
• Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Interest in complex, interdisciplinary systems.
• Fluent English is required as the business language, plus Norwegian or German depending on location.
• Must be qualified to obtain security clearance under the Norwegian Security Act; background checks are part of the recruitment process.

Nice to have

• Experience or academic exposure to submarine, military, or other complex technical systems.
• Network architectures, information security, or cybersecurity.
• Communication systems, transmission methods, optical or acoustic sensors.
• Model-based design or Integrated Logistical Support.
