Compensation: $27.50 per hour

What you will do

• Plan and lead daily mindfulness sessions and social-emotional learning mini-lessons.
• Serve as the primary liaison between students, Peer Mentors, Academic Lead Teachers, and families.
• Manage classroom behavior, rituals, and routines aligned with Academy philosophy.
• Monitor and document student social-emotional progress and individual growth.
• Lead and supervise students during Friday field trips and daily transitions.
• Provide individualized student support and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.

Requirements

• Must be able to relocate to New York City for the duration of the Academy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• 2+ years of classroom teaching experience.
• Experience with social work, school psychology, or guidance counseling.
• Experience teaching English Language Learners or multilingual learners.
• Background check and physical exam clearance required prior to hiring.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Familiarity with New York City public school systems.
• Certification or experience in Responsive Classrooms or Mindfulness.
• Second language proficiency in Arabic, Dari, Farsi, French, Fulani, Haitian Creole, Russian, Spanish, or Ukrainian.
