Software Engineer II (Data Platform)

Salary: $150,100–$225,100 USD per year, with potential bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Develop, test, deploy, and document scalable data platform code and services.
• Support data cataloging, analytics, data ingestion, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Build services for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, including audio, video, text, and images.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and improve platform capabilities, scalability, and availability.
• Participate in production on-call rotations, troubleshoot critical issues, and maintain monitoring and observability.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams across multiple time zones and contribute to technical discussions and demos.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• 3+ years of experience developing scalable, distributed systems.
• Proficiency in at least one of Scala, Java, or Python.
• Experience with cloud-based applications or services, preferably AWS; GCP experience is also relevant.
• Exposure to Kafka, Kinesis, or SQS, data ingestion, and distributed processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Apache Flink.
• Understanding of CI/CD, monitoring, observability, and willingness to participate in production on-call rotations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks or similar unified data platforms.
• Experience with unstructured data, data cataloging, lineage, and metadata tools.
• Experience supporting platform-scale ETL frameworks, analytics services, or data quality checks.
• Knowledge of GCP or multi-cloud environments.
