What you will do

• Contribute to the development, testing, and deployment of high-quality code across the data platform.
• Collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones.
• Support platform capabilities for data cataloging, analytics, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Build and support services for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Participate in on-call rotation for production support and troubleshooting.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience developing scalable, distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Scala, Java, or Python.
• Experience building or maintaining cloud-based applications (AWS preferred, GCP a plus).
• Familiarity with event streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, or SQS).
• Understanding of distributed data processing frameworks (Apache Spark or Flink).
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity from San Diego, CA.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Databricks or unified data platforms.
• Experience with unstructured data formats like images, audio, or video.
• Knowledge of data cataloging, lineage, and metadata tools.
• Experience with multi-cloud environments.
