What you will do

• Work closely with Epic Art Leads, the Art Director, Outsource Managers, and artists to support external vendors.
• Communicate the art direction vision to vendors, ensuring art consistency and high standards.
• Create concept designs for environments, characters, and FX within the Fortnite ecosystem.
• Collect and generate detailed documentation, video reference, and examples of art asset production to support external vendors.
• Communicate feedback to outsource partners and ensure creative goals are met.
• Partner with internal Epic art staff to ensure outsource concept art is clear and respects limitations from other disciplines.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating a range of styles, creativity, and craftsmanship in visual development, including environments, characters, and FX.
• A keen eye for anatomy, design, color theory, composition, and FX, with an understanding of how art translates to production groups.
• Experience working on at least one AAA game in a Senior Concept Artist role.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to coordinate between internal and external teams.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to accurately estimate tasks and maintain schedules.
• Understanding of other game art disciplines, their workflows, and limitations (animation, character, environment, VFX).

Nice to have

• Fluency in a language other than English, including Chinese, German, Spanish, Italian, or Russian.
