What you will do

• Manage and mentor a team of skilled data engineers while driving architecture decisions.
• Design, build, and maintain high-performance distributed data pipelines for batch and streaming processing.
• Own the data platform architecture and evolve it to support business and product goals.
• Establish best practices for data quality, testing, and observability.
• Coordinate sprint planning, code reviews, and provide performance feedback to the team.
• Contribute hands-on to complex development and infrastructure optimization tasks.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in leading and managing a data engineering team.
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering with deep Python and SQL expertise.
• Proven background in maintaining large-scale data platforms handling hundreds of TBs.
• Hands-on experience with orchestration tools and distributed data frameworks like Apache Spark or Beam.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub.
• Background in working with ML pipelines or data science teams.
• Knowledge of data contracts, lineage, and versioning.
• Experience in the airline, pricing, or GDS systems sector.
