Salary: $203,000 - $233,000 (Region 1), $187,000 - $215,000 (Region 2), $174,000 - $200,000 (Region 3)

What you will do

• Design and implement evaluation systems and tooling to validate Oura’s custom AI models and Advisor.
• Develop novel evaluation methods to measure grounding, reliability, and actionability of LLM and agentic systems.
• Build and optimize custom AI models through fine-tuning, knowledge distillation, and quantization.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to balance cutting-edge research with practical engineering impact.
• Lead initiatives that reduce Oura’s dependency on external AI SaaS providers and accelerate model development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in production AI/ML work.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML/AI frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, CDK).
• Experience with fine-tuning, evaluation frameworks, and deployment of LLMs or agentic systems.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive product vision.
• Initiative and self-direction in research and scientific exploration.
